Ready, Set, Go Maths is a hands-on approach to learning mathematical concepts that is implemented in our Junior and Senior infant classrooms in Holy Family Junior School
Our infants work with concrete materials every day during their maths lessons each day. Sorting and counting practice is central to the programme. The pupils’ develop their problem-solving skills as they figure out the answers to the teacher’s questions by taking part in enjoyable, hands-on games. The emphasis is not only on the practical approach but also on the use of language so that the pupils can explain what they are doing and why.
